Asset Performance Management

Project Management

As a ‘solutions’ provider to industry, MT has a vested interest in ensuring that the client system:

  • Is professionally installed
  • Meets all agreed objectives and deliverables
  • Is implemented in the shortest possible time frame
  • Achieves financial efficiencies
  • Produces a substantial return on investment

Formulae for Success

Strict adherence to Project Management and industry Best Practice Principals

Every project, large or small, is controlled through a detailed project plan, mapped out and fully agreed by all parties. This project plan is then used to monitor every phase of the project on a regular basis through to completion.

All projects are modelled on PAS 55, which is the British Standards Institution's "Publicly Available Specification" for the optimised management of physical assets and infrastructure. PAS 55 provides clear definitions and requirements specification for, optimised and whole-life asset management systems, operating within the framework of industry Best Practice principals.

The Key elements related to PAS 55 are mapped out below

  Asset Management Systems

All of the above operate under a program of Continual Improvement, as we move the client down the road to wards the goal of World Class Maintenance

Project Methodology

The Mainguard Project Methodology (MPM) is a unique 7 step programme with the following attributes:

  • To guarantee client satisfaction
  • To remove the pain of implementation
  • To provide product expertise
  • To ensure the client value for Money

Project Methodology Framework
Step 1 Systems Audit Define and agree project objectives, scope, the need and firm up on clients expected deliverables.
Draw up the project plan.
Step 2
Collating Data

Manual data will be captured and electronic data will be exported onto pre-defined spreadsheets.
Data will then be normalized, standardized and then corrected, amended and verified.

Step 3

Mobilization of Resources Ongoing workshops and meetings will be facilitated with key stakeholders to identify key information.
Checkpoints and verification procedures will be incorporated to assist the client in ensuring the system data health and integrity.
Step 4
Checkpoints and Verification A key element is to ensure, at regular intervals, that the data being collated is correct in terms of agreed conventions and practices and meets with the key stakeholders expectations.
Checkpoints and verification procedures will be an integral part of the overall project plan and will be monitored carefully with document sign off procedures taking place where appropriate.
This step will ensure that the overall goals and objectives of the project will be maintained through to a successful project completion, with zero misunderstandings.
Step 5
On Site Assistance On site assistance will be scheduled as part of the project, to ensure that the client system is fully operational, functional and complete.
Step 6
Project Closure

To ensure that MT has a satisfied client, and that he remains a satisfied client.
A final sign off workshop will be held with all stakeholders to ensure project compliancy but also to formalise ongoing follow up work and audit requirements. (See step 7).

Step 7
Continual Improvement
Maintenance is about Continual Improvement stretching towards the goal of World Class Maintenance.
Our philosophy is to build up a healthy and valuable ongoing relationship with the client to bring value added services to the table and not simply to complete a project and then move on.
This program is supported by regular audits, site visits and an interactive and dynamic Management Information System.
